The Many Uses for Plastic Bags

plastic bagsPlastic bags. You can cover last night’s pasta in them. Build a bag sculpture. Recycle them. Twist them into a braid. This is a fun game to play with your children. You name something and talk about all of the things you could possibly do with them. It’s a good way to spur entertainment and keep kids from being bored.

And plastic bags, as one of the more malleable products on the face of the earth, mean that they’re one of the best ones to begin with. What else can we do with them?

Use them as garbage bags. Knit with them (although how I’m not exactly sure, I know there are knitters out there who use newspaper bags and such). Tie garden plants with them. Pretend they’re wild animals and let the wind move them around your backyard like bats or chickens or squirrels. Make custom bags to package a specific product. Wrap feet in them to protect against the cold. Line your garbage can with them. The list goes on and on.

There are so many different kinds of bags, from doorknob bags to a reclosable bag, and they all have so many different possible functions. Here’s to exploring them all!
