Childhood Memories of Plastic Bags
There are plenty of uses for plastic bags around the home. When I was little and it snowed, Mom used to put plastic bags around my ankles and fasten them with rubber bands so my footsies didn’t get wet.
Actually she never did that with you, it was with Mike.

Oh. Aren’t you a baby?
Yeah, but I have all of your experience, too. So I can provide accurate information on everything that really happened. By the time you were born our parents had enough money to buy you bootsies. You probably romanticized the vision of plastic bag boots from seeing other kids at school wearing plastic bags booties or maybe you heard about Mike and created the memory all on your own.
Huh. I guess that makes sense. What about the different colored newspaper bags we collected in elementary school to make a plastic rainbow for that project on ecosystems?
Yes, that was you.
Hmm. That’s really strange that I simply created that memory and was going to relay it to the reader. He knows what I’m talking about, though—plastic bags are used for all sorts of things and just because I didn’t have the memory per se, I still have it.
Plastic bags are a kind of symbol in our world, they stand for strength, dryness, and in a way, comfort. So remember it however you want, I was just sayin’ for the reader’s sake.
